The .Coop gTLD is restricted to businesses and organizations acting as cooperatives and registered with a cooperative membership association that requires compliance with the seven cooperative principles as a condition of membership, or have provided documentation to verify a cooperative status and eligibility for a .coop domain name.

Due to the nature of cooperatives, whereby they don't exactly fit into the typical business structure with stock holders, but being a business, they are not considered organizations, .coop is expected to act as the defining domain extension for all such cooperatives

Because NCBA will monitor each request,it is expected to manage and arbitrate all trademark disputes.
